NATIONAL MEDIA RELEASE

The National Citizens Coalition, Canada's leading independent non-partisan organization and a McLaughlin & Associates client, has rented billboard space for an ad campaign voicing Canadian support for the United States in the war against terrorism sparked by the attack on the World Trade Center in Manhattan and the Pentagon in Washington.

The billboards (depicted above) were formally introduced by the NCC in a press release on Wednesday, reprinted here with permission:

NCC Billboard Expresses Solidarity with the United States

(Toronto, September 26) The National Citizens Coalition is putting up billboards to express Canada’s solidarity with the United States in this time of crisis.

The billboard, one of which is up in downtown Toronto, features American and Canadian flags side-by-side under the phrase, "Together for Freedom."

"Just as thousands of Canadians from across the country are expressing their support of the United States. by flying American flags on their cars or on their front porches, this is a way for NCC supporters to tell Americans that Canada will be by their side," says NCC Chairman Colin T. Brown.

Brown says the billboard reflects the NCC’s belief that freedom must be defended and that Americans can count on Canada to help defend it.

"Our billboard is saying Americans are not in this fight alone," explained Brown. "The terrorist attack was an attack on freedom, it was an attack on democracy, and it was an attack on Canada."

Brown says his group plans to erect similar billboards in various Canadian border towns.

"We want Americans to know they can count on Canada’s support," says Brown.
